Rex Stout - Rex Stout, full name Rex Todhunter Stout, (December 1, 1886 - October 27, 1975) was an American writer best known as the creator of the larger-than-life fictional detective Nero Wolfe. Stout was born in Noblesville, Indiana, but shortly after that his Quaker parents (John Wallace Stout and Lucetta Elizabeth Todhunter Stout) moved their family (nine children in all) to Kansas.
Nero Wolfe - Nero Wolfe is a fictional detective created by American author Rex Stout in the 1930s and featured in dozens of novels and novellas. Wolfe is one of the best-known consulting detectives after Sherlock Holmes.
Inspector Cramer - Inspector Fergus Cramer (his full name is only ever mentioned once, in Where There's A Will) of the New York Police Department is Nero Wolfe's main foil in the Nero Wolfe mystery series by Rex Stout. Though he hates Wolfe's attitude, snobbishness, and all-around love of showing off, he has a good bit of respect for the detective's ability to solve mysteries.
Purley Stebbins - Sergeant Purley Stebbins of the New York Police Department is Inspector Cramer's assistant in the Nero Wolfe series of mysteries by Rex Stout. Stebbins is in many ways the archetypal "good cop": tough, brave, and dedicated, but also gruff, unpolished, and by no means brilliant.
